History – The first Hyatt hotel was opened by Hyatt Corporation on 27th September, 1957 at the Los Angeles International Airport and was called Hyatt House. Within the next ten years Hyatt expanded its operation along the west coast. In 1957, the first atrium hotel of the world was set up by Hyatt Corporation. The grand edifice with its twenty-one story atrium tower lobby revolutionized the architecture of the hotel buildings. It thus became a trendsetter in the lodging industry with exposed public spaces. The first international Hotel known as Hyatt Regency Hong Kong was opened.
