Novartis

Novartis is a distinguished multinational pharmaceutical company which as been serving mankind for years by producing useful and safe medicines which acts as great life savers.

Formation

Novartis was founded in 1996 as a result of amalgamation of two Swiss pharmaceutical companies, namely Ciba-Geigy and Sandoz Laboratories. It is stationed at Basel in Switzerland. The President of the company is Mark Fisherman. Its Board of Directors consists of twelve members. In order to ensure good administration, Novartis values and beliefs are included in the Regulations of the Board, the Articles of Incorporation, and the Charters of the Board Committees.

Through years of dedicated researches, Novartis has developed some of the most valuable products such as pharmaceuticals some of which are listed below:-

•  Ritalin Hydrochloride

Novartis has also produced important vaccines such as Focetria and Optaful in the year 2007 which have been approved by the European Union. Apart from the above mentioned products sandoz and animal health food and medicines are also included within the list of Novartis products.

Research Activities

The precious medicines and drugs that are produced by Novartis are the result of careful research and experimentations which are conducted in a number of research centers such as the Novartis Institutes for Bio-Medical Research (NIBR), the Genomic institute of Novartis Research Foundation, The Novartis Institute of tropical Diseases and the Friedrich Miescher.

Novartis is continuing its fight against all diseases with the aim of putting an end to all form of sufferings and gift a healthy life to all the human beings. In December 2005 Novartis entered into a partnership with Astex Therapeutics with the aims of inventing anti-cancer medicines.
