Cadbury Trebor Bassett, or Cadbury's, as it is better known, was set up as an independent endeavor of John Cadbury. The Cadbury concern was started off in the year 1824. John Cadbury began as a vendor of tea, coffee and chocolate. Most of his initial vending business he conducted in Birmingham, in the Bull Street area in the UK. Later he also went on to do expanded vending in India and Pakistan as well.
The considerable success of his business established the company of Cadbury Brothers Limited. His sons Richard Cadbury and George Cadbury took over after him. They opened up the first Cadbury factory. Later after the World War–I, Cadbury Brothers Limited underwent a merger in the year 1969 with the Schweppes, formally called the J.S Fry & Sons Limited to form the Cadbury Schweppes. The merger though is said to become invalid in the year 2007.
