Tsunami alert issued after earthquake of M 7.0 strikes El Salvador and Nicaragua

2016-11-24 18:43:48 (UTC): A 7.0 magnitude earthquake has shaken El Salvador and Nicaragua, just an hour after a powerful hurricane hit Nicaragua's eastern coast. The tsunami warnings were lifted within hours of the earthquake. 

 

6.1-magnitude earthquake strikes Nicaragua    

2016-06-10 03:25:22 (UTC):  A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck the northwestern coast of Nicaragua on Thursday. According to the US Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 10.6 miles east of Puerto Morazan, Nicaragua. The quake was felt in Nicaragua’s capital Managua, which is located around 70.8 miles from the epicenter. There were no immediate reports of casualties.
