Myanmar Earthquake Damaged Temples, Killed One

Aug 25, 2016 12:33 AM: The earthquake that occurred on Wednesday in Myanmar resulted killing a 22-year-old man and damaging at least 66 stupas and many pagodas. According to the US Geological Survey, 25 km west of Chauk, at a depth of 84 km was struck by the quake. The tremors of the quake were felt in India, Bangladesh and Thailand as well.

M6.8 Earthquake Strikes Myanmar

Aug 24, 2016 7:26 AM: With magnitude 6.8 on the Richter Scale, an earthquake has hit Myanmar on Wednesday. The quake left eastern parts of India, West Bengal and Assam shaken. As mentioned by the National Centre for Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, the epicenter of the quake was in Myanmar and occurred at a depth of 58 kms at around 4:04 pm. There is no report of any casualty yet.

Earthquake measuring 6.9 on Richter scale struck Myanmar

13 April 2016: An earthquake measuring 6.9 on Richter scale struck Myanmar on Wednesday night. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake struck at a depth of 135 kilometers (84 miles) and 396 kilometers (246 miles) north of Naypyidaw – the capital city of Myanmar. Residents in Yangon panicked after the earthquake struck; however, there were no immediate reports of damages or injuries. Tremors were felt in Bangladesh and parts of India – Kolkata, Guwahati, Patna, Bhubaneswar, and Delhi.
