World's Iconic Spot Niagara Falls was Illuminated at Canada's Flag Hoisting Ceremony

  • To mark India’s 74th Independence Day, the Indian tricolour flag was pressed into the Niagara Falls, Canada. Officials from the Consulate General of India, Toronto tweeted a picture of this "globally famous" scenic spot from its official handle captioning "India in all its magnificence at the Niagara Falls". The Niagara Falls was illumined in the tricolours at the flag-hoisting ceremony which was presided by Apoorva Srivastava, India’s Consulate General in Toronto. The event of illuminating Niagara Falls was held by Indo-Canada Arts Council. Further, "Tiranga-Car Rally" was also held in multiple cities by the members of the Indo-Canadian community. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on the occasion that "The ties between Indian and Canada, and the people who call them home, run deep".
