Wildfires Rages in the West Coast states of US, At Least 33 Dead

  • Oregon Office of Emergency Management Director Andrew Phelps has warned that mass fatality incidents can take place due to the raging wildfires. With confirmed deaths of at least 33 people and dozens of others missing, tens of thousands of people are fleeing their homes in Washington, Oregon, and California. Reports say that more than 3.2 million acres of land have been charred by the wildfires since last month in California. The state has also witnessed the destruction of around 4,000 structures and 22 deaths. Oregon also suffered massive losses and deaths of at least 10 persons. A 1-year-old boy died in blazes in Washington. Governor of Washington Jay Inslee has said that it happened due to climate change and “is not an act of God”. The White House has announced that US President Donald Trump will visit Sacramento County of California on Monday.
