Jakarta governor Joko Widodo has been declared winner in Indonesia’s presidential polls, bagging 53% of the vote share.
Before joining politics, the charismatic Widodo worked in a furniture business and started a successful export firm.
However, his challenger in the presidential polls, the former general Prabowo Subianto, has alleged there was “massive, structural and systematic cheating” in the election. Rejecting the election, Subianto, who received 47% of the vote, said his side was withdrawing from the process.
