Violence Erupts in Brazil Streets after General Strike

  • As per reports, violence erupted in streets of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo at the end of the first general strike in the country in more than 20 years.

Buses and cars were set on fire at city centre in Rio de Janeiro and shops were vandalized.

During the strike hours, shops, schools and banks remained closed. However, after the strike ended, multiple clashes in central Rio between protesters and riot police took place.

As said by President Michel Temer, he regretted the incidents in Rio but he will continue putting his efforts to modernize the country.
