US Vice President Pence says No Daylight between Allies on North Korea

  • US Vice President Mike Pence has said the United States and its allies South Korea and Japan have full agreement on maintaining pressure on North Korea and make DPRK return to the negotiating table with the US. While on his way back to the USA after visiting Winter Olympics in South Korea, Pence denied any “daylight” between the allies on the issue. Pence’s comment comes at a time when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un invited South Korean President Moon Jae-in for talks to Pyongyang, which would be the first summit of two Koreas in more than a decade. South Korean President Moon Jae-in said that both Koreas should "make it happen" and went on to encourage North Korea to return to negotiation table.
