US Official says there is no Definite Timeline for them Pull out Troops from Syria
January 5 , 2019
A senior US State Department official told media that there is no definite timeline set by the United States for pulling out its military forces from Syria. The official went on to say that the pullout will be done in such a manner that the ISIS militants are kept under pressure throughout. While stressing on the fact that the US doesn’t want to have a military presence in Syria indefinitely, he made it clear that they don’t want to “open up any vacuums for terrorists.” The statement is in sync with the concerns aired by the former United States Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis after the US President suddenly announced pulling out the US military troops from Syria. Similar concerns were also shown by the US allies. Reports say the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will visit the Middle East next week.
