US major general killed, 15 injured in attack in Afghanistan

A major general of the United States army was killed and 15 troops wounded after an Afghan soldier reportedly opened fire at a military academy near Kabul.
The two-star general, Maj Gen Harold Greene, became the highest-ranking US officer to be killed in the Afghan conflict since it began 13 years ago.
A German brigadier general was among those injured in the attack. The soldier who opened fire in the British academy was shot and killed by other troops.
