  • UNSC agrees to deploy UN Police Force in Violence-torn Burundi

    UN Security Council (UNSC) has approved a French-drafted resolution asking for deployment of 228 UN police forces to Burundi to contain violence and human right abuses in Burundi, which witnessed killing of over 400 people and over 200,000 people fleeing their homes due to unrest. French UN Ambassador Francois Delattre said that UN police deployment is essential for the world body to keep a watch on the situation and prevent from the worse to occur.
