Typhoon Noul approaches Philippines, thousands evacuated
May 10 , 2015
Thousands of people have been evacuated as Typhoon Noul approaches the Philippines.
The typhoon is expected to bring winds of speeds over 120mph and intense rain, prompting landslide warnings in hilly areas.
While the typhoon may just “brush the country” instead of sweeping right through it, the weather bureau has warned of storm surges in the coastal areas of Cagayan and Isabela in the east.
People in the vicinity of the storm have been advised to “avoid outdoor activities”.
