Third patrolling of South China Sea by U.S. is underway

  • The U.S navy is planning to conduct another passage near the disputed islands of South China Sea. This move of U.S is being reprimanded by China sharply. Washington does not approve of the claims made by Beijing in the South China Sea. The U.S. calls these exercises as ‘freedom of navigation’ in order to underscore its right to navigate in the sea. The navy also plans to conduct increased number of complex exercises in the area which China claims along with five other countries. According to the U.S authorities, its navy often conducts such operations world over to challenge the maritime claims which unlawfully restrict the freedom provided under the International law.
