Taiwan Earthquake: Series of Earthquakes rattle Hualien; death toll rises to 10

  • A series of strong earthquakes rattled Hualien, Taiwan after a major earthquake struck the city on Tuesday night. Another earthquake of 5.7 magnitudes was felt late on Wednesday in the same area. Around 67 people are still trapped inside the buildings. The death toll has risen to 10 and more than 200 people are reported injured. 58 people are reported missing. Extensive damage to roads, buildings and other structures is seen in the city of Hualien. The ongoing tremors and rainfall have made the rescue operations more complicated.
