Sufi Muslim leader killed in Bangladesh

Mohammed Shahidullah, 65, a Sufi Muslim leader was hacked to death near Rajshahi, a town in North Bangladesh. The country is witnessing a surge in violence against religious minorities leaders. At least 20 people have been killed by the Islmaic Militant groups so far. The government is strongly criticized for not bringing the perpetrators to justice or successfully preventing the violence against religious minorities. The killing of the Sufi leader was similar to the recent assaults on activists. Sufis have been continuously targeted in Bangladesh for the past three years.
