South Korea says North Korea will Close Down its Nuclear Test Site in May 2018

  • Spokesperson of the South Korean president's office, Yoon Young-chan, stated that North Korean nuclear test site - Punggye-ri – will be closed down in coming May. Reports say scientists are of the view that North Korea’s Punggye-ri nuclear test site had already collapsed partially last September. The announcement comes after hours the US President Donald Trump hailed joint declaration of North and South Korea and went on to say that he’s all set to hold talks with the leadership of North Korea in 3-4 weeks time. Yoon Young-chan also told media that dismantling of the nuclear site would be done in presence of international community, especially experts from the US and South Korea.
