Siberia 'independence march' banned in Russia
August 6 , 2014
A Siberian independence march, supposed to take place on August 17, has been banned by Russia.
Moscow may also block the BBC Russian service for publishing an interview with Artyom Loskutov, one of the organizers of the march, which was planned in Novosibirsk, the largest city of Siberia.
Denying permission for the march, the mayor’s office of Novosibirsk cited “the inviolability of the constitutional order, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Russian Federation”.
