Seven killed as U.S. cargo plane crashes at Afghan base

  • A US civilian cargo plane crashed at Bagram airbase in Afghanistan on Monday, killing its seven crew members.

    The plane crashed shortly after take-off within the boundaries of the US-run airbase.

    The Taliban had initially claimed responsibility for the crash. However, NATO later dismissed their involvement. No cause has yet been given for the incident.

    Bagram, located close to the Afghan capital Kabul, is the largest military base for American troops in Afghanistan.
