Search mission to locate AirAsia flight's data recorders resumes

  • Efforts to locate the flight data recorders of AirAsia Flight QZ8501, which crashed on December 28 while flying from Indonesia to Singapore, have resumed, according to media reports.

Bad weather over the Java Sea had hampered the search mission. Teams have been attempting to reach large parts of the passenger plane in the sea.

So far 37 bodies have been recovered, but a majority of the victims are believed to be in the aircraft.

The plane, with 162 passengers and crew on board, was reportedly travelling at around 32,000 feet when the last communication from the pilot was received.
