Scottish referendum: Alistair Darling confident of victory

  • With the latest polls indicating that the ‘no’ campaign leading days before the Scottish referendum, Alistair Darling said victory was in sight for the ‘better together’ side.

“We will win, be in no doubt about it,” Darling, who is heading the ‘better together’ campaign, told journalists.

Some polls indicate that all undecided voters would need to vote ‘yes’ if Scotland is to become independent.

Tony Blair, the former British prime minister, has added his voice in support of the ‘no’ campaign, saying he hoped Scotland stayed part of the UK.
