Scotland promised fresh powers for voting no in referendum
August 5 , 2014
British Prime Minister David Cameron has signed a three party pledge with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and the Labour leader Ed Miliband in a joint effort to boost the no vote in the Scottish referendum, which is to be held on 18 September.
According to the joint statement, if there is a vote against Scottish independence, new legal and tax powers will be quickly given to Scotland.
But a spokesperson for Alex Salmond, Scotland’s first minister, said no one would be fooled by the “Westminster-led rehash of vague promises and unspecified more powers.”
