Poland Election: President Bronislaw Komorowski concedes defeat to Andrzej Duda
May 25 , 2015
Bronislaw Komorowski, Poland’s president, has conceded the election to his rival Andrzej Duda after exit polls indicated that the latter had got 53% of the vote in the run-off.
Komorowski was the favorite in the first round, but did not get the 50% vote required for an outright win. He later told supporters that he respected the people’s choice.
Duda, a 43-year-old conservative from the Law and Justice party, thanked Komorowski and said people had “voted for change.”
