Patient being treated for Ebola in Texas hospital
October 1 , 2014
The first case of Ebola in the US treated outside Africa has been reported. The unidentified patient is undergoing treatment in Dallas, Texas.
The patient had left Liberia, one of the countries in West Africa grappling with the disease, on September 19, but developed symptoms only a few days after reaching the US, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said.
The CDC said the patient was being kept in strict isolation and all steps would be taken to prevent the disease from spreading in the US.
