Palestine Teenage Girl Ahed Tamimi Freed after 8-months in Israeli Jail

  • Ahed Tamimi (a 17-year old teenage girl and the current symbol of Palestinian resistance), who was arrested and jailed by Israeli authorities for kicking and slapping Israeli soldiers, was released from Israeli custody after serving a jail term of 8 months. She told media, hours after her release, that her happiness is incomplete because other Palestinian female prisoners are still behind bars. She went on to say that women are a large part of Palestinian struggle for freedom from the clutches of Israeli occupation and their role will only increase in the struggle. Ahed Tamimi said that she plans to pursue law as a career so that she can hold the Israeli occupation accountable.
