Olympic fears increase after second Russian attack
December 31 , 2013
A second major terrorist attack only 24 hours after the first one has shaken the city of Volgograd and risen fears regarding the Sochi Games, scheduled to begin in less than six weeks.
According to the authorities, at least 14 people died in the attack near a hospital where survivors of the last suicide attack were admitted.
Reports suggest that 41 people have been injured in this suicide attack, which may be linked to the previous one. Experts are linking the three attacks in the past three months to jihadist leader Doku Umarov.
A basketball game scheduled in Volgograd for next Monday has been canceled due to fears.
