Oklahoma legislature passes bill criminalizing abortion

  • A bill that would criminalize abortion procedures in Oklahoma has been passed by the legislature of the state. The bill states that a person who is found to have performed an abortion will be guilty of felony and would be sentenced to three years in jail. The only exception is in instances where the abortion has to be carried out to save the mother’s life. The bill has been sent to Oklahoma governor Mary Fallin for final approval.
