Obama, UN call for immediate ceasefire to end Gaza fighting

Barack Obama, the US president and the United Nations have called for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and militant group Hamas as the Palestinian death toll in Gaza crossed 500.
Around 120 Palestinians have been killed in the neighborhood of Shujai'iya, including many women and children on Sunday, July 20. Thirteen Israeli soldiers, two of them American citizens, were also killed in the heavy fighting. This intense shelling is continued even today (Monday).
Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it could not rule out reports that an Israeli soldier had been kidnapped by Hamas.
