Obama, Modi seek 'new agenda' for US-India ties

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President Barack Obama have said the “true potential” of their countries’ relationship “has yet to be full realized,” and called for a "new agenda" between India and the United States.
As Modi met Obama at the White House for the second time, the two leaders spelled out their joint vision for India-US relations in a newspaper article.
A diplomatic row over an Indian envoy, India’s not signing a global trade agreement and alleged US surveillance over the ruling BJP are recent issues that have strained ties between the two nations.
