Obama, Modi seek 'new agenda' for US-India ties

  • India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the US President Barack Obama have said the “true potential” of their countries’ relationship “has yet to be full realized,” and called for a "new agenda" between India and the United States.

As Modi met Obama at the White House for the second time, the two leaders spelled out their joint vision for India-US relations in a newspaper article.

A diplomatic row over an Indian envoy, India’s not signing a global trade agreement and alleged US surveillance over the ruling BJP are recent issues that have strained ties between the two nations.
