No more nuclear talks, says North Korea

  • North Korea has rejected the call to resume talks to end its nuclear program, saying previous similar attempts had ended in failure. The North Korean government also reiterated its demand that the United States come to the table in order to negotiate a peace treaty.

The North Korean foreign ministry’s statement came after US President Barack Obama and his South Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye said they were open to talks with the North on sanctions provided the Kim Jong-un regime showed serious intent to abandon its nuclear ambition.
