Missing students were killed by gang, Mexican government says

  • Mexico's attorney general Jesus Murillo Karam has again emphasized that 43 students, who went missing from the southern Guerrero state in September are dead, according to media reports. It is for the first time when he has announced all the students dead.

He insisted that they were murdered by a criminal gang, and their bodies were then burnt — an explanation that the families of the students have rejected in the past.

Karam said he had reached the conclusion after his team interviewed 99 people, which included gang members allegedly involved in the crime.
