Macedonia: Protesters in Skopje demand equal rights for Albanians
June 14 , 2015
Hundreds of people have marched in capital Skopje to demand equal rights for Macedonia’s Albanian minority.
The protesters also demanded the resignation of prime minister Nikola Gruevski.
Last week, the country’s leadership had agreed to hold polls by April 2016 in a bid to end the ongoing crisis.
Gruevski faces allegations of corruption and wire-tapping his opponents. But he denies the claims and has accused opposition leaders of refusing to cooperate in finding a solution to the crisis.
