Libyan PM office attacked by gunmen
May 9 , 2012
At least two security officials have been killed in the Libyan capital Tripoli after ex-rebels attacked the office of the prime minister.
According to eyewitnesses, pickup trucks mounted with anti-aircrafts surrounded the building, after which a gun battle ensued for several hours.
The attackers are believed to be former rebels who fought to bring down Colonel Gaddafi’s regime.
Reports suggest they are demanding payouts promised under a reward scheme, which was suspended last month due to allegations of fraud.
