Indonesian military plane crashes, 142 dead

An Indonesian military C-130 plane carrying 122 people crashed near a residential area. As per media reports, the plane crashed on Tuesday shortly after takeoff in Medan, located in Sumatra, and was carrying military personnel, their families and some students. Search operations are going on and so far 142 bodies have been recovered, including of those who were killed on the ground. Air Marshal Agus Supriatna, the commander of the Indonesian Air Force, said that more bodies are expected to be recovered from the debris of the aircraft. So far, no survivors have been found.
