Pro-democracy protests have again gained momentum in Hong Kong, with thousands of demonstrators converging Saturday on Mong Kok district, a busy part of the city.
Around 240 people, including 15 police officers, have been injured in the past day, reports said. More than 25 protesters were detained by the police on various charges including disorderly conduct, property damage and weapons possession.
On Friday there were violent scenes as riot police scooped down on student protesters in an early morning raid in Kowloon area.
