Fossil of largest carnivorous dinosaur unearthed
September 12 , 2014
Scientists have managed to get a better look at and reconstruct the Spinosaurus, the largest carnivorous dinosaur that roamed the earth some 100 million years ago.
The new research was possible thanks to a huge fossil that was unearthed in the Sahara.
Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the findings, published in the Science journal, is the confirmation of the theory that the Spinosaurus was indeed a swimming dinosaur and in all likelihood preferred the water to the land.
It’s length from nose to tail was more than 15 meters.
