Fire engulfs steel plant near Tokyo's Haneda airport

  • Aug 24, 2015 - A huge fire engulfed a steel plant located close to Tokyo's Haneda airport in Japan on Monday, but there were no reports of injuries. According to media reports, television images showed flames and thick black smoke at the site of the incident. The steel plant is owned by steelmaker Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal. The fire came hours after a blast occurred at a warehouse at a U.S. military post near Tokyo; however, the police refused to speculate on whether there was any link in the two incidents.
