Committee votes to go ahead with impeachment proceedings against Brazil's president

A committee has voted to go ahead with impeachment proceedings against the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff. As per reports, this has dealt a severe blow to Rousseff’s hopes of staving off the impeachment proceedings. A congressional committee voted by 38 to 27 to recommend impeachment proceedings against the president. It is claimed that Rousseff had manipulated government accounts ahead of her re-election in 2014.
