Chinese ship picks up a ping
April 6 , 2014
A Chinese ship looking for Flight 370 has heard a ping in the southern Indian Ocean, with the pulse being 37.5 kHz. Reports suggest that the pulse is the same in the case of the missing plane's black-box data recorders. However, the development could turn out to be false. "This could be a variety of things," an oceanographer said. He noted that the same frequency is also used by several other instruments.
"It is yet to be established whether it is related to the missing jet," the report said. Dozens of planes and ships are still in the search zone considering that the battery life of the data recorders is finite.
