Chinese Aid Arrives in Venezuela, Red Cross to Distribute Aid in Two Weeks

  • The first Chinese cargo plane delivering 65 tons of medicine and supplies has been received by the Venezuelan government. This aid is a direct result of strategic cooperation between China and Venezuela. Venezuelan Minister of Industry and National Production, Tareck El Aissami, has said that the Chinese aid’s delivery is an exercise of sovereignty. The Chinese Ambassador to Venezuela said that Venezuela is an integral strategic partner and friend of China and lauded the effort of Venezuelan people in keeping the peace against US aggression. This comment comes just after the US threatened Russia and other friendly nations to Venezuela over their military support to the oil-rich South American country. Francesco Rocca, head of the Red Cross (IFRC), has told media that they will distribute aid supplies (including food and medicine) to estimated 650,000 suffering Venezuelans in two weeks.
