China Marks 70 Years of Communist Rule in Beijing

  • On Tuesday morning, China marks 70 years of Communist rule with a massive parade in Beijing. The show was commenced by the China's President Xi Jinping who said in his speech that "no force can shake the foundation of this great nation" as he stood at the Tinanmen square where Mao Zedong declared People's Republic of China in October 1949. Securities have been tightened for the event by putting Beijing on high alert. Further, roads have been closed, flying kites have been banned for the day, and pigeons have also been caged. Some new weapons have been showcased such as hypersonic balistic nuclear missile which has the capacity to breach anti-missile defences to reach the United States. Every year, October 1 is celebrated as National Day of the People's Republic of China.
