Catastrophic flooding due to Hurricane Harvey likely to worsen in Texas

Unprecedented flooding due to Hurricane Harvey has turned roads into rivers in Houston, Texas. The National Hurricane Center reported, “Catastrophic and life-threatening flooding will continue across south-eastern Texas and additional rainfall accumulation of 15-25 inches are expected.” Stranded families and more than 3,000 people have been rescued in and around Houston. In order to assist the National forces in search and rescue operations, Texas National Guard has been deployed by Governor Greg Abbott. As per a Texan official, more than nine people have lost their lives in incidents related to the storm. US President Donald Trump will visit Texas on Tuesday. On Monday, the US Public health officials warned that this catastrophic flooding will increase the risk of diseases ranging from skin rashes to bacterial and viral infections and mosquito borne disease.
