American accused of plotting with al-Qaeda

  • A 20-year-old man in California was arrested in Washington and charged with an attempt to support the al-Qaeda with its efforts in Syria.

According to the Justice Department, Nicholas Teausant planned on traveling to Canada before joining Iraq and Syria.

"I'm going to be a commander and I'm going to be on the front of every single newspaper in the country," he said. "Like I want my face on FBI's top 12 most wanted. Because that means I'm doing something right." It wasn't clear if the man had a lawyer but he's soon expected to appear in federal court.
