The iPad could destroy its rivals
October 25 , 2013
The iPad could be able to dominate a substantial portion of the tablet market. Farhad Manjoo wrote in the Wall Street Journal that Apple could "establish a self-perpetuating, super-profitable juggernaut" with tablets looking more like PCs.
He mentioned that the company could become "the Microsoft, Intel, and Dell of tomorrow's computer business."
It looks like Apple is trying to accommodate all kinds of customers since it has unveiled iPads in several prices. The $299 iPad mini could help the company bring in more customers and while ensuring that it stays at the top.
Moreover, software developers prefer iOS to Android since apps on the iPad work on all models, as opposed to Google's Android.
The popularity of the iPad among software developers is ultimately also linked to its popularity in general with people.
