Teen's action on Facebook costs her dad $80k

  • It's common to be embarrassed of your Facebook post but it's unusual to cost your father $80k after making the mistake of posting something on the social media network.

Teenager Dana Snay did just that when she spoke about her father's settlement with Gulliver Preparatory School. The school was expected to pay the man $10k for a settlement regarding age discrimination but the deal was to keep the whole thing a secret. The condition meant that the man couldn't even tell his daughter.

"Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT," Dana wrote on Facebook.

The school never paid anything after Patrick Snay broke the agreement. "Snay violated the agreement by doing exactly what he had promised not to do.," the judge wrote. "His daughter then did precisely what the confidentiality agreement was designed to prevent."
