Spain: Wiped-out data may have led to A400M plane crash, say reports

  • Last month’s A400M plane crash in Spain may have been caused by the accidental deletion of computer files that interpret engine readings, reports say.

Airbus, the manufacturer of the plane, had discovered anomalies in the aircraft’s data logs, indicating a software glitch.

The investigation by Spanish authorities suggests that the wiped-out files of the military plane’s engine caused the propellers to spin much slower than required, leading to the crash.

The A400M crashed during a test flight near Seville on May 9, killing all four people on board.
