Samsung's Tizen-powered phones launched in India

  • Samsung has launched its first smartphones powered by the Tizen operating system in India, according to media reports.

The Z1 handsets are on sale in India for the competitive price of Rs 5,700 ($92).

The South Korean firm says the new phone has a faster boot time and longer battery life than several competitors in the budget range.

Samsung had earlier planned to sell the non-Android phones in Japan and Russia, but eventually settled for an India launch, media reports said.
