Lizard Squad claims responsibility for Xbox, Playstation problems
December 26 , 2014
Video gamers had a tough time as Xbox Live and Sony Playstation gaming networks crashed on Christmas Day, media reports stated. Lizard Squad, a hacking group, took credit for the incident. Gamers were enraged as they were unable to sign into their online accounts. In a statement Xbox said it was taking all possible steps to fix the problem.
Earlier, a group known as Guardians of Peace had claimed responsibility for hacking Sony Picture’s servers. The company was forced to cancel the premier of The Interview, a fictional story about the assassination of the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The movie was later released in some cinema halls in the United States.
