Google services blocked in China

  • Google has said that several of its online services have been blocked in China.

    Traffic to Google's services in China dropped on Friday evening, according to the online Transparency Report website operated by Google, which provides updates on access to its services across the world.

    Among the sites affected were Google's search engine and its Gmail web email service.

    The disruptions coincide with as once-in-a-decade meeting to appoint new leadership.

    In a statement, Google said it had "checked and there's nothing wrong on our end."
